Advanced Signal Processing for GPS receivers
Where individual GPS L1 signals are too weak to be detected, conventional detection and navigation methods will not be able to yield sufficient pseudoranges to produce navigation solutions. In this scenario, Collective Detection, which combines individual GPS L1 signals projected from the signal domain onto the position domain, collectively forms a strong peak at the correct position. However, this method poses large computational burden. To ease the computational load , the measured pseudoranges (via conventional detection) can be used . It is well known that one dimension in the solution space can be eliminated for each pseudorange found. The hybrid method proposed here is capable of reducing the search space of Collective Detection such that a better position solution and lower computation load can be achieved.
